AVA DINO! – Men’s / Women’s combined team age division event (June 29 Saturday)

No day of registration. Limited space available. Register early. Registration closes Wednesday before. Late fee after that.

Morning check-in at 8:00-8:30 am
Players meeting at 8:45am
First serve at 9:00am
Finals between 5-6:00pm

AVA DINO Format:

Double elimination event, all games are one game to 15, with old school Side-out scoring (only the serving team can score a point).

Women’s & Men’s 2s Combined age division rules:

• Men teams must have a combined total of 80 years or more.
• Women teams have a combined total of 70 years or more.
• Age point advantage: For every 4 years that a teams combined age is more that their opponents, that team receives 1 point at the start of the game. Capped at 4 points per game max.
• No let serve (Serve touching the net results in the play ending, no point).
• No antennas.
• Small court.
• Choice of serve or side goes to the older team.
• Official ball is the black & white Mikasa KOB ball.
• Block counts as a touch (3 touches per side), no redirecting blocks.
• Timeouts: 2 one minute time outs per game, per team.

Call your own nets and doubles (throws).
Max 5 minute warmup before game.

Prizes for 1st through 3rd place finishes. Results entered into the historic AVA player database. Results (Ratings and points) count towards Seaside seeding and end of year AVA player awards

General

Have fun, great attitudes. Old school beach festival atmosphere!  Players after-party with awards ceremony. There will also be a standup paddle board for player’s use, free food and free raffles.
