AVA has been running beach volleyball events and building community around healthy outdoor activities in Seattle since ’06 at Alki beach. There’s been a long-standing standing tradition of beach volleyball events at Alki beach in Seattle since the early 90’s.
AVA showcases the top talent in the North West region with a fun beach festival atmosphere. AVA is a not-for-profit organization run by players, that strengthens the local community and economy through healthy outdoor events and activities.
AVA was founded in 2006 by a group of passionate volleyball players with the goal to unify the North West beach volleyball communities, make volleyball accessible to all levels, through training, clinics and well produced events.
Alki beach has always been the premier location for beach volleyball in Seattle since the 80’s. The AVA (Alki Volleyball Association) is a not-for-profit organization that has grown over the past decades to be recognized as the premier beach event series in the North West for all divisions Juniors through semi-pro. With the highest level competition and largest showcase events in the North West.
For 3 years from 2016 to 2018 AVA produced a beach volleyball event in the spectacular coastal town of Seabrook on the Washington coast by running what was the largest annual beach volleyball event in Washington state with 100+ teams and 20+ courts. The annual Seabrook event grew awareness of the North West region talent within the volleyball community nation wide. With a prize pool of $10,000 for top Open athletes, drawing talent form Canada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California. Also offering free top coaches clinic in the state for participants.
