AVA Junior Seattle Championship Series #1

This is an AVP America Juniors sanctioned event, players earn AVP National Points. Bids are awarded to 1st & 2nd Finishers in each Division, for the AVP (Junior Nationals) in Hermosa Beach CA on July 5-9th 2023.

Morning check-in

All Divisions:
– Check in at 8:00am – 8:30am
– Play 9:00am – 5:00pm

We play rain or shine! Because of limited court space, we must start on time, no exceptions.

 

Format

AVA Juniors U12, U14, U16, U18 – Pool play followed by power pools. Podium photo session with prizes will be right after the finals of each division. 1st, 2nd and both 3rd place finishers must wait for the photo session before leaving the beach. Photos are posted online for national recognition.

 

Please note: parents of Juniors are welcome to cheer for their team, but coaching and influencing the ref is not allowed during the match.

 

Prizes

AVA Juniors U12, U14, U16, U18 – Prizes for 1st and 2nd place finishers of each division

 

General

Fun summer beach festival atmosphere, paddle board for player’s use, free food, free raffles and other surprizes! Players podium awards with photo sessions, published online and through AVA’s social media channels.
AVA Juniors tournament finishes count towards the end of season AVA Junior Championship Series award. The Junior Championship Series consists of AVA Junior events #1 through #6.

  • Points will be earned for playing each AVA Junior event based on your finish. Players can play one or as many AVA Junior events as they like.
  • Double points will be earned for finishes in the Grand Slam series #3 and the final Seattle Open championship series #6 (Alki) events.
  • Points winners at the end of the series will be awarded trophies/medals plus grand prizes and crowned the “AVA Junior Seattle Champion” per age division (u12, U14, U16, U18). Finishes will be published and recognized nationally and top finishers eligible to be noticed by scholarship recruiters. Have fun at the beach!

We are complying with state safety guidelines and encourage all attendees: • to comply with state social distance guidelines of 6’ or more as much as possible (ie. set up tents at least 6’ apart). • to minimize number of people in your group. • to refrain from slapping hands and minimize physical contact where possible. • to use hand sanitizers per state guidelines. • stay at home if you have any symptoms.
